English abstract:
In this paper we introduce a novel type of building blocks termed NXO, where X denotes any natural or unnatural amino acid with reversed acid and base functionality achieved by converting the acid into an acid hydrazide and the amine into an oxamide. These NXO building blocks can be incorporated into artificial -sheets and -turns and their hydrogen bonding pattern is compared to tripeptides.
