English abstract:
The title compds. I [R = H, Et, Me, Ac, R1 = H; RR1 = (CH2)3, CHMeCH2CH2; R2 = R3 = H; n = 0,1,2] were prepd. by cyclizing benzothiophenes II with EtOCH:C(CO2Et)2 and ester hydrolysis. In come cases the 2,3-didehydro analogs I(R2R3 = bond) were also obtained. I (RR1 = CHMeCH2CH2, R2R3 = bond) had considerable bactericidal activity against gram-pos. organisms.
