English abstract:
An analog of the anti-Alzheimer drug galanthamine I, carrying a SO2-moiety instead of an amino-functionality, has been synthesized as a racemic mixt. using tandem cyclization techniques to form a new four membered heterocyclic ring system. I was deviod of any noticeable acetylcholin- (AChE) or butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE) inhibition confirmed the expectation that the amine functionality is essential for the AChE or BuChE inhibitory activity of galanthamine.
